Backup your wallet

Backing up your wallet is the most important step to keep your crypto safe. Sahal Wallet provides you with a 12-word seed phrase that serves as the master key to your funds. If you lose your device, uninstall the app, or forget your passcode, you can use the seed phrase to restore your wallet.

A seed phrase (also called a recovery phrase or secret phrase) is a set of 12 random words generated when you create a new wallet.

  • It is the only way to recover your funds if you lose access to your wallet.
  • Anyone with your seed phrase can access your wallet, so keep it private and secure.
  • Sahal Wallet will never ask you to share your seed phrase.

  • Open the Sahal Wallet app.
  • Go to SettingsApp SettingsBackup.
  • Write down the 12-word seed phrase displayed.
  • Store it safely in a secure place (offline and out of reach from others).
  • Confirm your backup inside the app as instructed.

  • Do not screenshot or save your seed phrase digitally where it can be hacked.
  • Use a paper backup stored in a safe location or a hardware backup tool.
  • Never share your seed phrase with anyone — even support will never ask for it.
  • Back up each wallet separately if you have created multiple wallets.
